Reporting, Moderation and Complaints

This page describes the reporting and review tools currently available on Art Licence Studio. It is not a claim that every item is screened automatically, that every report will result in removal, or that Art Licence Studio has completed every external legal and operational step for public launch.

Report public content without an account

• Guests, members and other affected people can use the visible Reportcontrol beside a public artwork, profile, post, article or comment.
• Choose the closest reason and add only the context a moderator needs. Do not include passwords, sensitive personal information, or copies of suspected illegal material.
• A successful submission returns a reference in the form ALS-123456789ABC. Save it: the platform does not collect a reporter name or email for this route and cannot send a personal status update.

Human triage and decisions

• A report creates or joins a private moderation case. It does not remove content by itself.
• Supported keep and remove actions require an authorised human operator, exact content and owner context, and a written decision note. The operator route remains protected by the configured admin allowlist, a signed session, AAL2 and a same-origin check.
• Child-safety reports are placed ahead of standard cases for urgent human triage. This queue priority is not a contractual response-time promise.

Complain or challenge a decision

• To complain about how a public report or safety decision was handled, return to the same public content, choose Complaint about a previous report or safety decision, enter the earlier ALS reference and explain what should be reconsidered. No account is required.
• A signed-in creator can challenge a supported artwork-removal decision from My Artworks. The appeal enters a separate human-review queue.
• If the content is no longer public, or the decision concerns a profile, post or comment, a signed-in member can open a moderation support ticket and include the case or ALS receipt reference.
• We do not publish a fixed report, complaint or appeal deadline without verified operating evidence. The product shows the recorded state and any moderator response that exists.

Immediate danger and child sexual exploitation or abuse

• If a crime is in progress or someone is in immediate danger, call 999. Do not wait for an Art Licence Studio report to be reviewed.
• For suspected child sexual exploitation or abuse, use the exact content's Report control and the child-safety reason. Do not download, copy or re-upload suspected material into the form.
• A platform moderation decision is separate from any report that Art Licence Studio may be required to make to the National Crime Agency. Operator readiness for that external duty is tracked as a launch gate, not implied by this page.

Privacy, receipts and records

• The public intake uses an HttpOnly first-party browser token and keyed network evidence for abuse limits. The receipt table stores hashes, not the raw token, IP address, name or email.
• Pseudonymous public receipt rows expire within 90 days. Moderator identity, decision note, outcome and resolution time are recorded on the private moderation case; separate audit mirrors may also be written.
• Reporter identity is not shown to the member whose content is reported. Freedom of expression, context and privacy remain relevant to the human decision.
